Black History 365 Sub Plan: Oral Tradition: How Stories Carry Culture | Middle School Language Arts| 60-Minute Lesson

This Black History 365 one-day sub plan introduces middle school students to oral tradition and the role of storytelling in preserving culture across generations. Students learn about griots, folktales, proverbs, cultural memory, and African diaspora traditions while practicing literacy skills such as central idea, theme, story elements, text evidence, and CER writing.
